Jude Barnes is an eating machine. No matter what we give he, it gets devoured! Fruit is a particular favourite of his (especially fresh figs and pears), and there is no time for cutting it up into manageable pieces....

6 months old....
Happy 6 months old Judie! We can't believe how quickly that has gone and how much you have grown you beautiful boy. We know we are very lucky to have such an easy going bub (thank goodness he is like Dale!) who puts up with his mother and father's hectic lifestyle, living in two different towns, coming to work with mummy, sleeps brilliantly (most of the time) thanks to Kirsty, enjoys food and loves cuddles from anyone who is willing to dish one out. But, above all, he is a healthy and happy baby which is all we could ask for.
Here are Jude's 6 month measurements...
Length - 71cm (90th percentile)
Weight - 8.6kg (75th percentile)
Head circumference - 44cm (25th-50th percentile)
At 6 months of age, Jude can:
- Roll from his back to tummy and tummy to back
- Sit up
- Stand up with assistance for very looooong periods of time (mummy gets tired!)
- Move to objects on the floor by 'caterpillaring'
- Laugh, smile, chuckle, babble and say 'da da' - but he doesn't know it means 'Dale' just yet
- Get his legs stuck in his cot, daily!
- Pat Presley, and grab fists full of his hair
- Put his fingers in everyone's mouth - sorry in advance!
- Eat, eat and eat
- Drinks water from a cup
- Bite, bite and bite - especially Grandma's fingers!
Jude loves:
- Presley!
- Other babies and kids
- Being tickled esp under the arms, chin, in the ribs, knees..., everywhere really!
- Playing with daddy when he gets home from work
- Bathtime
- Shopping with mummy
- Food
- Water in a cup
- Swimming in the pool (lots of splashing and kicking)
- Sitting facing the front in his pram and car seat
Jude doesn't like (as much):
- Flying (although milk arrowroots did the trick last time!)
- I really can't think of anything else

Teething time...
Mummy and daddy are suspecting that Jude is nearing 'teething time' with an exponential increase in the drooling action...
Floor time...
Mucking around in my room...
People always ask us what are the best things about having a baby..., this is so difficult to answer. It is so amazing to watch a little person learn and develop right before your eyes. Not to mention the trust they instill in you, and the unconditional love they give. I would have to say though, one of our 'top 5' moments of each day would have to be when Jude wakes up from a sleep. We breath a sigh of relief when he goes down, but after 5 mins we are misssing his like crazy to the point where it is a race to see who can get there first when he wakes up - Dale vs Rhiannon vs Presley. When we're in Brisbane, it's Grandma that always wins - sometimes hanging around his bedroom door awaiting the opprotunity!!
And this is why.....
And this is why.....
Breakfast time...
Breakfast is definitely Jude's favourite meal of the day. Here he is having cereal and banana. Next up, toast!! We feed him the majority of the food, but allow him some time at the end to feed himself with his spoon. But, he has much more success with his fingers! These happy snaps are taken AFTER Jude has had a go...., as you can see, he is very impressed with himself!
Count the chins!
Meet some of my friends...
At only 5 months of age, I think Jude has had more visitors to Rockhampton than what mummy and daddy have the whole time they've been here!! It's always lots of fun, where Jude gets away with a lot more - not as much sleeping, more playing, millions of kisses and cuddles... actually, not much different to any normal day really! Here is Nudie with a few of his friends....
Bec with Jude
Bec travelled all the way to Rocky (with Sfen) for some one-on-one Nudie time!
Sammy with Jude
Sammy was in Rocky for a days work so she snuck in a 5 min cuddle on the way to the airport
Thomas with Jude
Jude looooooooves other babies, especially Tom who is 5 months older than Nudie
